A new Chinese radio station has launched to complement the historic state visit and give expatriates in the UAE a feeling of home away from China.

The 24-hour ‘Sound of the Dubai Dragon’ station will tune in to key interests of residents and tourists, zooming in on areas of culture and heritage, leisure, entertainment and luxury retail.

A mobile app will be available on Android and Apple devices, and also via the Arabian Radio Network’s Apple TV application.

The new station has been launched in partnership with ARN and Hala China, a joint initiative between Meraas and Dubai Holding.

“Radio is an integral part of the quality of life of residents, and this new station will help new Chinese residents feel at home in the UAE,” said Mahmoud al Rasheed, General Manager of ARN.

“The station will be a bridge to Emirati culture, helping educate and inform this new dynamic community with the latest UAE national news and information, assisting them with access to government services and to be aware of the rich history of the UAE.

“We take great pride in sharing our culture and helping communities understand more about the country they live in.”
