Nicki Minaj is in the UAE. According to the US pop star and rapper’s social media account, Minaj is presently in Abu Dhabi for what looks to be a private holiday.
Around midnight last night, Minaj posted an Instagram video to her 92 million followers of her standing on the edge of the beach. The nearby solitary road suggests that she could be staying at the Park Hyatt Resort in Saadiyat Island. The hotel has not responded to the The National's enquiries.
We also spoke to leading clubs in the UAE, but it doesn't appear that Minaj is booked in for any appearances in the next few days. Within the same hour, Minaj posted another video to Instagram where she is modelling a black and gold Versace outfit to the camera in front of a hotel's elevators that also look similar to those in the Park Hyatt in the capital.
However, it was the first video that set the online rumour mill into a tailspin. Who is the voice in the background? We thought if those aren't the soft tones of F1 racing champion Lewis Hamilton, it's someone who sounds a lot like him. It turns out it is him. Gossip site The Shade Room ran a video of Hamilton and Minaj exiting the same lift she was posing in earlier.
The British driver’s own social media account confirmed that he is in the UAE, with Hamilton posting an Instagram video of him jogging beside a Dubai skyline featuring The Burj Khalifa. In fact, there already has been much speculation that Minaj and Hamilton are indeed a couple, although neither has addressed the topic.
