Blink, and you might miss it. A surprise cameo can sometimes be the best part of any film. With news that princes William and Harry will be making a cameo appearance in the next Star Wars: The Last Jedi film, we round-up a list of surprising cameo appearances in films and television shows over the years. But, if you haven't seen some of the movies, beware of spoilers.
King Abdullah II of Jordan in Star Trek (1996)
Speaking of royalty showing up on random sci-fi sets, Jordan's King Abdullah II's cameo in Star Trek kicks off our discussion. Now over 20 years ago, the scene is only a few seconds long, and he doesn't have any lines, but the camera focuses enough on the King of Jordan that we can definitely make it out to be him.
Daniel Craig in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2016)
This one is harder to tell since the James Bond actor’s face isn’t actually visible in the scene. However, upon closer inspection, once you realise it is Craig (and you will with his unmistakable voice), it’s hard to visualise anyone else underneath the helmet.
Ed Sheeran in Game of Thrones (2016)
The Shape of You singer just loves to pop up everywhere these days, doesn't he? From the radio to films, you just never know where you'll find the British singer-songwriter. However, appearing as a Riverlands soldier/musician in Game of Thrones season 7 was certainly something not many expected. Singing a song in the forest, he catches the attention of Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams). Sheeran doesn't have many lines, but his appearance is quite memorable nonetheless.
Bill Murray in Zombieland (2009)
What's better than Bill Murray? Bill Murray playing a version of "himself". And as most people do, what's the best way hide out during a zombie apocalypse? Clearly by pretending to be a zombie as the Ghostbusters star decided to do in Zombieland. Unfortunately, this is what actually gets him shot and killed by Jesse Eisenberg's character, but it was a hilarious cameo while it lasted.
The Green Bay Packers offensive line in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)
In a surprising moment, the offensive line for the Green Bay Packers American football team makes a cameo during an underground "riff-off" singing competition against other a cappella groups. Led by Clay Matthews, the group proceeds to pull off a decent rendition of Destiny Child's Bootylicious in the sing-off before eventually getting eliminated. But more importantly, who even knew these guys could sing?
Totoro in Toy Story 3 (2010)
Isn't it lovely when animations collide? In Pixar and Walt Disney's Toy Story 3, there's a little scene that showcases none other than Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro. The Studio Ghibli character is standing around with the other toys while main character Woody takes a look on the computer to find directions. It's a nice little homage to Studio Ghibli creator and animator Hayao Miyazaki.
Donald Trump on Sex and the City (1999)
Before Donald Trump was making news everywhere else, he was on Sex and the City in a-blink-and-you-might-miss-it cameo. Of course, since this video is from 18 years ago, it is a little outdated. But there you have it, President Trump just sitting in a corner booth without any security around him while Samantha (Kim Cattrall) sips on a drink. He only has one line and then the scene cuts away.
